After defeating former champions Spain at the hands of Morocco in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar, changes were made to the team.
According to local media, the Spanish Football Federation has initiated changes to the squad following Spain’s 0-3 defeat on penalty kicks by Morocco in the round of 16 match of the FIFA World Cup.
The federation has appointed Luis de la Fuente as the new coach of Spain’s national football team, replacing Luis Enrique.
The 61-year-old de la Fuente played a key role in Spain’s under-19 team winning the European Championship in 2015 and the under-21 team winning Euro 2019.
Spain had an aggressive start with a 0-7 win over Costa Rica in the group matches, but drew 1-1 with Germany and lost 1-2 to Japan.
Similarly, the Spanish team suffered a loss when the Moroccan team defeated them 0-3 on penalty kicks.
