The ongoing Football World Cup in Qatar has entered its final stages and Luka Modric’s team defeated Croatia to book their place in the final of the mega event with Lionel Messi’s Argentina.
The second team to play in the World Cup final will be decided after the match between defending champions France and Morocco on Wednesday night.
The question here is how much prize money will be given to the teams that won the World Cup and lost in the finals?
According to the football coverage website ‘Goal’, the winning team of the World Cup will get 42 million dollars as a prize, while the loser in the final, i.e. the number 2 team in the mega event, will be given 30 million dollars.
FIFA has set aside a certain amount of money for each team that reaches the soccer world cup. In this tournament, the third place football team will be given 27 million dollars, the fourth place team will be given 25 million dollars and each team that reaches the quarter final will be given 17 million dollars.
On the other hand, each team that reaches the ‘Round of 16’ in the World Cup will be given 13 million dollars, while each team that qualifies in the World Cup will be given 9 million dollars.
