According to American media reports, the legendary Brazilian footballer Pele died at the age of 82. He was suffering from colon cancer.
The legendary footballer held the World Cup trophy in 1958, 1962 and 1970 while also creating many records that have not been broken till now.
Football ‘King’ Pele was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo late last month due to complications from colon cancer.
Pele was named the best athlete of the century in 1999, he also has the honor of FIFA Joint Footballer of the Century. Pele played more than 1300 matches in his 22-year career and scored almost as many goals.
The Brazilian football great also holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the youngest World Cup winner, youngest hat-trick and highest goal scorer.
