Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal for Al Nassr in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Al Fateh in the Saudi Pro League on Friday night. The 37-year-old Portuguese soccer superstar converted a last-minute penalty kick to secure the draw.
Despite failing to score in his debut last month, Ronaldo was thrilled with his first goal in the Saudi league.
He tweeted after the match, “Happy to have scored my first goal in the Saudi league and great effort by the whole team to achieve an important draw in a very difficult match!” Ronaldo signed a 2-and-a-half year deal with Al Nassr worth over 200 million euros in December and was named captain shortly thereafter.
As a result of the draw, Al Nassr now tops the standings with 34 points, level with second-placed Al Shabab, but with a game in hand. Al Nassr will next travel to play Al Wedha on Thursday.
