Will Dickson has been making a name for himself in Manchester City’s youth ranks, with his 18 months of hard work paying off as he has risen from the under-18s to the Elite Development Squad. During a recent match against Manchester United, Dickson scored a goal that put City 5-1 up, and his celebration was just as noteworthy as the goal itself. Dickson replicated Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic “Siuu” celebration, much to the delight of the United fans who would go on to witness City’s young team delivering a devastating 6-1 defeat.

When asked about the celebration, Dickson admitted it was just a spontaneous moment and he hadn’t given it much thought. He has been in great form this season, with ten goals and two assists to his name across all competitions. He attributes his success to a combination of consistent training, confidence, and regular playing time.

Dickson’s road to success has not been without obstacles, as he has had to overcome a series of injury problems. However, he sees these struggles as opportunities to grow stronger and says that taking care of his body is a top priority in order to minimize future injuries.

Under-18s coach Ben Wilkson has known Dickson for a few years and is proud of his progress. He explains that Dickson had a difficult time with injuries until about three-quarters of the way through his U16 year. But after a fantastic year with the under-18s and staying fit all year, Dickson has continued to grow and develop as a player, impressing for the under-21s and in European football.

Dickson’s determination to keep improving and make up for lost time is evident, and his confident and hungry attitude bodes well for his future in the game.
