Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has announced that the club will not be appealing the three-match ban received by Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder received a red card from referee Andre Marriner during the team’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The dismissal occurred in the 70th minute of the match as a result of an altercation between players from both sides after a foul on Antony by Jeffrey Schlupp. After a VAR review, Marriner determined that Casemiro had committed violent conduct towards Palace’s Will Hughes. As a result, Casemiro was unable to participate in the remaining stages of the game and will now miss the upcoming Premier League fixtures against Leeds United (home and away) and Leicester City.

Erik Ten Hag, manager of Ajax, spoke about the recent suspension of player Casemiro during a pre-match press conference ahead of their game against Leeds United. Despite considering an appeal, Ten Hag stated that they do not believe they have a chance in a legal process and that the suspension will not prevent Casemiro from playing in the Europa League play-off first leg against Barcelona on February 16th. The suspension, along with injuries to Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, and Donny van de Beek, may result in Marcel Sabitzer making his full debut for the team.

Marcel Sabitzer, an Austrian player, was substituted into a recent victory over Palace and received praise from manager Erik Ten Hag for his game intelligence and ball control. However, the team will also be without two attackers, as Anthony Martial remains unavailable and Antony will not be participating in the upcoming game.Erik Ten Hag downplayed the potential impact of absent players on upcoming games and expressed his belief in the strength of the squad.

As the manager, he stated that he has to work with the players who are available, and highlighted the quality of the players in the squad who are not always in the starting XI. Ten Hag emphasized that the team has to win and that all players in the squad are capable of performing for Manchester United. He added that he cannot use the absence of players like Casemiro or Anthony Martial as an excuse and that the team must perform and win no matter who is on the pitch
