The 2018 FIFA World Cup champion, Kylian Mbappe, has embarked on a three-day trip to Yaoundé, Cameroon. Born in Paris to a mother of Algerian-French descent, Fayza Lamari, and a Cameroonian father named Wilfried, Mbappe’s visit to his father’s homeland has generated much excitement. Upon their arrival in the capital city of Cameroon, Mbappe and his father, Wilfried Mbappe, received a warm welcome from fans and officials.

During his time in Cameroon, Mbappe has a series of engagements lined up. One notable event is his visit to a school for the deaf and hearing impaired, which has been refurbished with funds from his charity organization, ‘Inspired By KM.’ The school, located in the suburbs of Yaoundé, has benefited from Mbappe’s philanthropic efforts. The French superstar’s presence in the African country has drawn hundreds of eager fans, eager to catch a glimpse of their idol.

In addition to his charitable endeavors, Mbappe will also participate in friendly matches with local clubs in basketball and football. Various activities have been planned for the 24-year-old during his stay, including visits to nearby attractions and a special game with the Vent d’Etoudi Football Club, a second-division team in Cameroon owned by renowned tennis player Yannick Noah. On Saturday, Mbappe is scheduled to visit his father’s village, providing him with a chance to connect with his Cameroonian roots.

Recently, Mbappe made headlines by announcing that he would not be renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), which expires next year. While expressing a desire to stay for another season, he must sign a new contract if he wishes to continue playing for the team. PSG President Nasser al-Khelaifi emphasized the need for Mbappe to commit to a new contract during the current transfer window to avoid losing the talented player on a free transfer.

Since joining PSG from Monaco in August 2017 in a record-breaking deal worth 180 million euros ($196 million), Mbappe has risen to prominence as one of the world’s most celebrated players. His visit to Cameroon not only allows him to engage with his heritage but also highlights his philanthropic endeavors and further solidifies his status as a global sporting icon.
